Potterfests is on LJ! (and an introduction)

Hi, I'm lee_bella or just Bella. I'll be helping out with posting fest announcement on potterfests. If you've been wondering why there were so many posts on here these past few days, I'm the reason.

(My apology for the sudden influx of fest news. There are so many HP fests and exchanges and writing challenges going on right now -- and there will be more on the way.)

Just want to let everyone know that Potterfests is also on LJ: potterfests. I'll be posting fest announcement on both LJ and DW whenever I catch them. If you are running a fest, please consider promoting your fest on both potterfests and potterfests.

You can also promote your fest on fandomcalendar. If you have a comm on DW, you can promote your comm at fandom_on_dw. There is also hpfests on tumblr.

If I see an announcement on LJ that is not on DW and vice versa, I can help repost it to LJ or DW for you.

That’s great!! DW is more of my home right now so I’ll switch to following on here. There’s also podfic-calendar on dw which is great for promoting anything that welcomes or incorporates podfic—the mods there do a pretty good job of finding things but extra help is always welcome—I’m sure they would really appreciate if you send any podfic-inclusive events their way!

(Note: I tried to comment on the LJ post but wasn’t able to—Google kept telling me I was failing the invisible captcha text but even when I tried to disable my tracker blockers it still didn’t work. Any way to disable that for commenting, if you’re already logged in?)

Thank you for telling me about podfic-calendar. I'll take a look and see if there is anything I can send their way.

I didn't have any problem posting comments on LJ yesterday. I used firefox. Since I'm not the mod, I don't have access to the settings. I have already forwarded your message to the mod. Meanwhile, you can leave your comment on DW.

Thanks for looking into this! I’d never had any problem posting to LJ or commenting before this (on LJ in general), so I’m glad joining the comm was an easy fix and this is also good to know (that LJ has changed how their captchas work). I mostly use mobile (Safari on iOS.)

Hi, I talked to the mod, and the mod had changed the setting for posting on LJ. In order to keep the spam down, only members who have joined potterfests can post on there. Try joining the comm and see if you can comment.

It worked! Thanks so much! (Doesn’t do the hidden captcha anymore, just logs an IP address.)

Thank you my dear for jumping in and doing this... there are lots of Potterfests I know I've missed. Potter fandom is so extensive it's hard to know what is out there!
